KL-AR was founded in 2018 and currently works on projects in Switzerland, Germany, and South Korea.
SIA, freier Architekt
Prior to co-founding KL-AR with Jinju Lee, Johannes spent several years acquiring extensive working experience in high profile offices around Europe, the USA and Asia and eventually joined Herzog & de Meuron in Basel, Switzerland. There he was involved as architect in leading roles in projects such as the Qatar Art Mill, the Orientalist Museum in Doha, Kinderspital Zürich in Switzerland and the Tai Kwun Centre for Heritage & Arts in Hong Kong.
Johannes holds a Master of Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design, USA and a B.A. in Architecture from the University of Applied Sciences Biberach, Germany. He is a registered and practicing architect in Germany and Switzerland.
SIA, LEED AP, ETH
Before founding KL-AR in Switzerland together with Johannes Kohnle, Jinju trained in Tokyo, New York, and Seoul. In Japan, she worked in the office of Kengo Kuma and Associates, where she was involved as an architect in various roles mainly for the projects in Asia. She is an accomplished writer on design topics for various print media as well as the author of the book <월간 생활 도구, 좋은 물건을 위한 사려 깊은 안내서>.
Jinju received her Master in Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design, a Master of Advanced Studies in History and Theory of Architecture from the ETH Zürich, and a B.A. in Architecture from Hongik University, Seoul. She is a registered architect in Switzerland.
